Behaviour of Thick-Walled Composite Construction for the Machine-Tools Industry: Experimental and FEA Results Comparison
Original language description
This article deals with the experimental description of beaviour of composite specimens which were developed for the application in the desing of machine tools. Modal properties (eigenfrequencies and damping) of composite spindle ram prototype from high-modulus carbon fibres and properties of steel welded spindle ram are compared. Outer dimensions of these specimens were 350x350x1200 mm. Results of composite specimen with integrated cork layers are included. Integration of cork layers led to significantincrease of the damping values.
