Stability analysis of wave-based control of flexible systems
Original language description
The wave-based control of flexible mechanical systems has been recently developed. It is based on the idea of sending and receiving waves to and from the flexible multibody system as a continuum. The received wave is then reflected back into the continuathat finishes the desired motion. This approach has been successfully applied for the control of motion of 1D chain of lumped masses and for the motion of 2D planar flexible bodies. However, the analysis and proof of stability of such control is still missing. This paper deals with the stability analysis of the wave-based control. It starts with the development of the model of a chain of lumped flexible masses itself and as a continuum receiving and reflecting the waves. Based on these models the modelof wave-based control is developed and its stability is proven.
