    This paper deals with utilization of sound-absorbing materials in the regional unit. Mathematical model of the regional unit end car on the basis Statistical Energy Analysis was set-up in the commercial software VA One. Force excitations at location of the machineries and bogies mounting were applied. Several calculation scenarios were considered. Dominant paths from two main sources to cab cavity were found out. Influence of the using sound-absorbing materials to noise inside the cab was shown.
