Original language description
The article deals with the possibility of mixture of the diesel fuel and Jatropha oil combustion. The work arises from the projects which were realized at UJEP, FPTM, department of Machines and Mechanics with cooperation of Polytechnic of Numibia, department of Mechanical Engineering. The physical properties of Jatropha oil and results from combustion experiments are presented. The combustion experiments were carried out for mixture of diesel fuel and Jatropha oil with different volume fractions. The aim of the work is to obtain the information and limits for effective application of crude Jatropha oil (only filtrated) manufactured by seeds pressing blended with diesel fuels. The mixture suitability for combustion in non-reconstructed engines in Namibia conditions was also investigated. The contribution contents only selected results of experiments performed on alternator HDY 2500L with 2 kW power and tractor Zetor Forterra 8641.
