Design Assistance System 2 (DASY2) is software that is aimed to help in concept and/or knowledge-based design. It has two main goals: maintain a knowledge database (KDB) and provide a flexible framework to interact with external software. First task is achieved by storing models in Extensible Markup Language (XML) format and storing all methods in equations or external modules. The second task will be achieved by providing a set of plugins and methods to work with external software under DASY2 umbrella.Optimization is also a part of DASY2, so every model can be optimized without using external software. Numerical solver is implemented in DASY2, which allows solution of direct and inverse tasks. Any parameter in the model can be defined as known or unknown (with respect to relations).
