INFLUENCE OF DATA QUALITY ON PIV MEASUREMENT ACCURACY
Original language description
The influence exerted by the quality of the data obtained using the Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) method on the resultant measurement accuracy is considered. The accuracy of measurements using PIV is checked with the help of two synthetic tests: the Uniform Flow Test (UFT) and the Couette Flow Test (CFT). The paper defines the main parameters which enable the quality of the data measured to be described . Based on the synthetic tests done, the conclusion indicates the recommended range for certain main parameters so that the resultant measurement accuracy using PIV is higher than one tenth of a pixel. Ideally, the aim of the paper is to do a comprehensive survey of the influence exerted by the measured data quality on the resultant measurement accuracy with the use of the PIV method.
