    This article presents our first results from numerical simulation of compressible turbulent flow past circular cylinder using the X-LES model. The X-LES model is a particular DES type method which switch between the classical RANS model in regions wheregrid is corse and large eddy simulation where grid is fine enough for direct capturing of large turbulent structures. Numerical solution is obtained by the explicit second order finite volume method. Presented results are for the subcritical turbulent flow characterized by Re = 3900.
