    Gas equipments are exposed to severe operating conditions, which have significant impact to degradation material and equipment maintenance. The undesirable factor which has a significant impact to the life cycle of the gas equipment is corrosion. Corrosion can damage the entire area of the metal. Sometimes it may occur only at the surface or may infringe the some components of the material structure. Various forms of corrosion depend on the material (type, structure, properties, purity), the corrosive environment and the conditions to which is the material exposed in corrosive environments. This paper deals with the issue of passive corrosion protection for high pressure gas pipelines.
