Phase Analysis of Hot Cracking of Al Aalloys Welds
Original language description
Article builds on an experiment Houldcroft weldability tests. The tests on the alloy EN AW 7022 T651 showed different results with filler material AlMg5Cr and AlSi5. We used optical microscopy, SEM, EDS and XRD analysis to clarify hot cracking on those samples. Revealed was the presence of quasicrystalline phase MgAlZn and the phase Mg2Si that have a major effect on hot cracking.
