Model Based Nonlinear Predictive Control of IC Engine in Unsteady Operation Mode
Original language description
Increasing demands for vehicle emission production limits with increasing requirements on vehicle dynamic performance calls for new, more complex engine control algorithms. Present ECUs use feedforward control algorithm with large number of lookup tables based on working points tuned in steady states with transient corrections used for engine unsteady operation. Feedback control is used for some of variables which are simple measurable. This paper is focused on predictive control, which allows engine setting optimization using predictive algorithm in real time. Model-based predictive controller minimizes optimality criteria with respect of limits of control and controlled variables.
