Three different models for non-equilibrium condensation of steam in a nozzle
Original language description
The paper describes three models of the flow of a compressible fluid with a non-equilibrium condensation due to the rapid expansion. All models contain transport equations for mass, momentum and energy of the mixture. The first two commonly used models describe the liquid phase using additional transport equations, the last and the simplest model use a kind of ?switch? from zero to equilibrium wetness. This simplest model could be particularly interesting for the extension of numerical codes for the simulation of the circumferentially averaged flow in a steam turbine. The paper contains comparison of these models for cases of one- and two-dimensional flow in a nozzle. Presented results have been obtained by in-house numerical codes based on a finite volume method and symmetrical operator splitting.
