Original language description
For the vector control of a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine (PMSM), an actual position information of the rotor and its speed has to be known, as well as the current in two phases. This work deals with a development of high speed PMSM with a shaft sensor. Design of the motor as well as the principle of the sensor are introduced. A real motor is tested using a vector control implemented on the Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) and a functionality of the sensor is verified. Finally, design of the high speed PMSM prototype is evaluated and based on the achieved results, suggested design improvements are proposed.
