    LOCAL VALUES OF HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENT AT THE BOTTOM OF AN AGITATED VESSEL MEASURED WITH TOIRT METHOD

    This paper deals with the measurement of local heat transfer intensity values at the bottom of the agitated vessel with an axial agitator located in the axis of the vessel, which is equiped with baffles. The measurement was carried out using a relatively new and non-contact method, the so-called thermal oscillation method (also known as TOIRT method). To determine the heat transfer coefficient, a phase delay of the measured wall surface temperature (measured with the IR camera) behind the generated heat flux (modulated by the sine function) is used. If the phases of both signals (generated sinusoidal heat flux and the temperature of the measured wall) are known and perfectly synchronized, it is possible to determine their phase difference, which is in direct relationship to the heat transfer coefficient.
