ELECTROSPUN COLLAGEN VARIABILITY CHARACTERIZED BY TENSILE TESTING
Original language description
Osteomyelitis is one of the most common reasons for implant failure in surgery.1 There is a growing interest in collagen nanofibrous materials that can be applied in the form of carriers of antibiotics to prevent infection.2 The aim of this experiment was to confirm the reproducibility of the collagen nanofibrous layers preparation process. Several samples were prepared based on identical collagen solution, under the same conditions of electrospinning process and cross-linking procedure. The samples were evaluated by mechanical tensile testing, fitted by model and statistically analyzed to determine preparation reproducibility.
