    Detailed Thermodynamic model of Dynamic Cylinder Deactivation with Advanced Valve Actuation

    A GT-Power software has been created in WP10 activity within the project NCK1: JOBNAC. A fully parametrized control tool enables various cylinder deactivation cycling patterns and gas exchange processes with simple user-friendly “case setup” inputs. Advanced valve actuation control also ensures proper handling of other sub-models, results creation (separately deactivated and firing cycles), simulation convergence and overall engine control (AF ratio, throttle control, etc.). It is tested and tuned on a series of deactivation cycling patterns. The model itself is modular and is ready to be submitted to optimization process. The control tool is applied on a passenger vehicle SI turbocharged engine.
