    Technical report describes the results of the subproject 2 - Subproject 2 R&D of Near Future Vehicles and Components for Rail, Road and Off-Road Transport (NEFVEC) elaborated during the year 2020 in the form, suitable for structured results presentation in a X-Wiki-based expert system. The subproject is primarily focused on vehicle research and development dedicated to near future vehicles and components (TRL 5-8). This is reflected in the partner selection (research organizations, universities, large passenger car and tractor manufacturers, rail vehicle manufacturer, testing authorities, SMEs delivering vehicle components or providing technical services etc.). It consists of different work packages focused on specific vehicle features and components including their design, optimization (using advanced simulation tools and experiments) and testing (both real specimens and virtual ones). Global future trends are considered, since specific deliverables are focused on vehicle digitization by microelectronic system applications and testing, safety from the design and testing point of view, including autonomous driving systems, active adhesion control for rail vehicles, passive safety of public transport vehicles, NVH and pollutants in emissions, shortening of design phase by combination of simulations and experiments including physical models of vehicle components for improvement of vehicle industry competitiveness and finally internal comfort of vehicles (NVH, HVAC) by improved components and their control and by body design for improvement of vehicle industry competitiveness.
