SIMULATION OF COOLING FOR INSERTS MADE FROM SLA IN PLASTIC INJECTION MOLDING
Original language description
To expedite the development of plastic parts, various technologies are employed, including 3D printing of plastic components. While 3D printing can replicate the shape of plastic parts, it cannot fully substitute injection-molded parts in terms of material properties, mechanical characteristics, and surface finish. These disparities can impact the certification of these parts. To address these challenges, a novel method for prototyping plastic parts has been proposed: utilizing 3D printed SLA inserts for plastic injection molding. This approach integrates these technologies and enables the production of plastic parts from the same materials used in serial production. This article focuses on the thermal management aspect during injection molding into SLA inserts, utilizing simulation software to analyze heat dissipation.
