Predictive Control with Chosen Changes of Control Actions

  • Original language description

The article presents a new and simple model predictive control method applicable to both linear and non-linear common industrial processes. The method does not rely on complex optimization algorithms and is suitable for controlling single-input, single-output dynamical systems. A predictive controller operating according to this method can serve as a universal replacement for classic PID controllers in industrial practice, provided that the model of the controlled system is known. The method can be used for controlling overdamped and underdamped systems, time-delayed systems, stable, unstable, and integrating systems, linear systems, as well as some non-linear systems (e.g., those with static input or output non-linearities). One of the key advantages of this method is that the control algorithm is straightforward and accessible to control engineers working in industry. Several examples are provided to demonstrate the performance of the predictive algorithm.
