Original language description
This work examines the behavior of the speed of pressure propagation in CO₂ under isentropic expansion conditions when the stagnation temperature approaches the pseudo-critical temperature. The study identifies a distinct pattern in the speed of propagation of pressure waves, particularly when the stagnation temperature surpasses or falls below the pseudocritical temperature. The results reveal that the downstream pressure at which discontinuities occur shifts with varying stagnation temperature, creating an inflection point at pseudocritical temperature. Furthermore, the speed of pressure propagation before and after discontinuities varies systematically, which influences numerical methods for fluid flow predictions. These findings are critical to enhancing accuracy in flow simulations, especially when two-phase flow behavior and liquid-phase sound speed approximations must be considered.
