In this paper, we describe our concept of the behavior-based control system for autonomous agents. These agents can be represented by simulated animals - animats or by physical robots. The analysis of the agent's control architecture is focused on to general aspects of the self-motivated behavior. The design of behavior control mechanism is presented. Elementary phases in process of "sensor-action assessment" are described.
