    Ontology Repository in Multi-Agent System

  • Original language description

Ontologies play important role in knowledge sharing, reuse, and communication. This is particularly important for multi-agent systems, where the content of messages exchanged among agents must conform to some ontology in order to be understood. In this paper, we build on the FIPA ontology service proposal, but we propose to use the ontology and knowledge representation languages used in the semantic web community, such as OWL and RDF. We describe and discuss an implementation of OWL and RDF enabled ontology agent. In the sense described in this paper this agent serves as an intelligent ontology repository available to be used by other agents.
