The paper is devoted to the standard problem of l1-optimalcontrol for MIMO systems, that is, to the design of a feedback compensatorthat minimizes peaks in the amplitude of the regulated variablesunder the assumption that the exogenous variables are bounded in magnitude andpersistent. The solution proposed avoids interpolationcompletely and is therefore distinguished by fine numerical properties.An alternative proof for the finiteness of the impulseresponse in the square (one-block) case is given, whileboth lowerand upper bounds for the optimal value of the norm areestablished in the general multiblock case.
