Automatic Object Localization from 3D Ultrasound Data (Ph.D. thesis proposal)
Original language description
This thesis proposal deals with the problematic of surgical tool localization in biological tissue from ultrasound data. It briefly discusses the principles of ultrasound imaging. The report afterwards summarizes the state-of-the-art in the domain of ultrasound data processing. Next chapters describe our contributions through two conference articles that propose methods for object localization in ultrasound image data. The thesis proposal is concluded with a summary of the foreseen research. We will focus on: (i) improvement of the developed method in terms of computational complexity and localization accuracy, (ii) radio-frequency signal processing with a view to make the boundary detection more precise.
