Competitiveness of Biomass from SRC Plantations - Case Study of the Czech Republic
Original language description
This article deals with the effective use of short rotation coppices (SRCs) of fast-growing trees on agricultural soils in the Czech Republic. It focuses on using economic models of these SRCs to calculate the minimal price of biomass produced for energypurposes. The basic principles used to create these models are included along with the minimal production price approach that ensures the investor with a return on invested capital. The model's input data stem from research data obtained on experimentalplantation sites where fast growing trees were grown and from the economic calculation of the costs involved in individual activities, specified for the actual conditions of the Czech Republic.
