Wireless Sensor Networks for Machine Condition Monitoring
Original language description
This paper deals with the area of Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) deployed in Machine Condition Monitoring (MCM). Features, capabilities advantages and disadvantages of WSNs with respect to their use in MCM are briefly described. The kit IRIS for WSNs byCrossbow Technology is introduced. Segments of this device are depicted more in the details. Thus are shown capabilities and restrictions of this WSN system. Modules communicate through ZigBee protocol and are programmed in NesC language under TinyOS operating system for embedded devices. Created system for MCM is proposed and its further development is outlined.
