Optical and Spectroscopic Properties of Polymer Layers Doped with Rare Earth Ions
Original language description
In this paper we report about Erbium (Er), Ytterbium (Yb), Europium (Eu), Neodymium (Nd), Thulium (Tm), Holmium (Ho), Praseodymium (Pr) and Dysprosium (Dy) doped polymer layers on silicon and quartz substrate. We chose these RE ions because Tm3+ doped photonics materials can have emission bands around 1470 nm and 1600-2100 nm. Er3+ doped materials can emit at 1530 nm. Ho3+ and Yb3+ ions were used as co-dopants. Tm3+ doped polymers were co-doped with Ho3+ ions and Er3+ doped polymers were co-doped with Yb3+ ion. Trivalent Dy3+ ion is studied for emission at 1300 nm. Other RE ions were chosen for photoluminescence study in visible region.
