Virtual Auditory Space for Visually Impaired Created with HRTF
Original language description
Selected methods for synthesizing binaural sound from a monaural source using Head-Related Transfer Function (HRTF) are presented. The basic aim is to prepare an useful background for further investigation, how is the effect of virtual sound source localization suitable for helping the blind people with orientation in space. Proper parameters of HRTF are necessary to obtain in order to get best working of the virtual sound system. The main algorithm and components of modelling the HRTF are shown and possibilities of individualization are discussed. We also introduce basic recent results, suggestions of own additional measuring of the HRIR and a program developed for testing relevant known algorithms and thesis.
