Evaluation of the Surviving Pattern Distribution
Original language description
The Surviving Pattern (SP) was recently shown to be a powerful metric usable in a multi-node wireless networks for a latency reduction. The SP needs to be source-coded for an efficient latency-reduced relaying strategy. Its distribution is thus requiredto be known. This paper introduces some techniques of obtaining the SP-distribution. The proposed technique is based on a construction of a Markov chain, which makes the evaluation of the SP trackable. We define a generic system model and according to some properties of the inner metric of the model, we recognize and exemplify two classes of the SP-distribution evaluation. The first class leads to a discretely-valued Markov chain and its investigation is performed more deeply then the second case leading to a continuously-valued Markov chain, where the complexity of the problem allows us just to evaluate the distribution for the simplest possible scenario.
