    An Improved Version of the Multifunction Very Low Drop Voltage Regulator L4949 with Greater Heat-Insensitivity

  • Original language description

    A new version of the very low drop voltage regulator has been proposed, comprehensively simulated, and experimentally constructed with novel temperature compensation circuits. Resistors of the improved compensation circuits have been characterized by theunique property of the CIA (Circuit Interactive Program) original design tool that enables arbitrary model functions defined by a subset of the standard Fortran 77. Moreover, all the resistor values of the compensation circuits have been automatically optimized in the direct-current transfer section, which is also a unique feature of the CIA program. In this way, a much more heat-insensitive version of the circuit has been proposed, and experimentally realized in small-size package. Generally, the optimization properties of the CIA program have been described (both mono-objective and multi-objective case) in the international journal Solid-State Electronics with the impact factor 1.438 in the 2010's October issue.
