Discharges generating low temperature plasma at atmospheric pressure have the ability for nondestructive treatment of biologically contaminated surfaces of organic matter. We have been studying microorganisms' growth inhibition caused by dielectric barrier discharge plasma. Effect of barrier material choice and thickness on DBD germicide properties is described in this paper.
