sin(x)/x SIGNAL UTILIZATION IN METAL DETECTION AND DISCRIMINATION
Original language description
This paper presents usage of an unusual signal (sinc signal) for metal detection and discrimination. Even in present days, differentiate between Anti-Personnel (AP) mine or unexploded ordnance (UXO) and metal garbage is a matter of high interest for scientists. In some areas, especially with contaminated or magnetic soil, 999 form 1000 alarms are false. Decrease of these false alarms is enticing and necessary in umanitarian demining. For the experiment Schiebel All-Terrain Mine Detector with testing spheres from different materials and different sizes were used. Signal from the detector was processed in frequency domain, especially phase spectra are shown and compared.
