Assessment of Power Systems with Doubly Fed Induction Generator Based Wind Turbines
Original language description
Connection and system integration of large scale wind power into the network systems has rose a number of important issues that must be evaluated in order to continually keep the power systems operation secure. It is therefore very important in planningand operation phases of power systems to perform and investigate the impact of wind power on the transient and small-signal stability. This paper briefly explores critical clearing time as a transient stability margin to evaluate the tested power systemswithout and with doubly fed induction generator based wind turbines. Maximum amplitude of the power swing, its settling time and voltage recovery in the system are also studied as margins. Simulations for transient stability analysis in this paper are performed using the Power System Simulator for Engineering software tools.
