Virtual Sensors for Diagnostics of Valve
Original language description
The new trend in the modern technical diagnostic tends to diagnose virtually any important part of a device with minimizing of number of the new sensors for doing this. Tnis effort leads to the idea of virtual sensors. Using indirect measurement and a model of diagnosed system, we can obtain information of system compoments status without necessity of new physical sensors. This paper suggests novel method for monitoring of electromagnetic valve proper function. The method is based on monitoring of valveswitching current waveform. This method is able to diagnose seizing of the valve, spring crack or defect of the valve coil. The incomplete valve operation can be also diagnosed as well. Proposed method is based on the comparison between measured currentwaveform during the valve switching with anticipated behavior, described by mathematic model of the diagnosed valve.
