    This paper deals with the losses analysis of electrical power in distribution network transformers. There are two kinds of losses in transformers, the core losses P0 in the magnetic circuit and short-circuit losses Pk in the windings. In the theoreticalpart I analyze the losses location and their causes. In need to ensure continual electricity supply relevance of independent no-load losses is very strong. They are independent on power load. To reduce no-load losses we can change structural and technological measures (core profile shape, direction of sheet rolling, rolling burr, etc.) or use entirely new magnetic materials used in modern magnetic circuits. The designed power amorphous distribution transformers with low losses reach values of 2/3 lowerno-load losses and 1/3 lower total looses at the load factor 0,5.
