Optical spectral analysis of ultra-weak photon emission from differentiated Human promyelocytic leukemia cells

  • Original language description

This paper deals with the measurement of optical spectrum of the ultra-weak photon emission from differentiated HL-60 cells (human promyelocytic leukemia). The photon emission was measured using high-sensitive photomultiplier module Hamamatsu H7360-01 ina light-tight chamber. Long-pass filters of wavelength 350, 400, 450, 500 and 550 nm were used for the measurement. The objective of the work is the estimation of a number of photons directly incident on the filter. This paper introduces the basic concept of measurement of induced ultra-weak photon emission from HL-60 cells and describes the recalculation of detected photo-counts to number of incident photons on the filter. Signal processing was performed in MATLAB. Results indicate that the photon emission from differentiated HL-60 cells is detectable in two examined wavelength ranges out of four, particularly 450-500 nm and 500-550 nm. These wavelength ranges of photon emission coincide with the range of photon emission from triplet
