The work presented in this paper deals with a measurement of the spontaneous ultra-weak photon emission from wild type yeast cells Saccharomyces cerevisiae. It is a preliminary study, which objective is todevelop an appropriate measurement set-up for future studies. It focuses on effects of different environmental conditions during experiments. Particularly, it emphases the influence of a composition of supplied air and means of the cell sedimentation prevention. The temporal development and changes inintensities of ultra-weak photon emission were compared. The optical signal was measured utilizing a high-sensitive photomultiplier module Hamamatsu H7360-01 inside a light-tight chamber. Obtained results indicate a strong impact of a set-up design on the photon emission from the yeast samples.
