Development of Navigation System for Unmanned Vehicles and Ultra-light Aircrafts
Original language description
Nowadays, the navigation systems play a key role in wide range of civil and military applications. Their performance and accuracy depend on used sensors. The most precise and also most expensive sensors are ring laser gyroscopes and servo accelerometerswhich usage is limited by their price. A cheaper alternative can be MEMS based sensors. Despite the MEMS inertial sensors have a lot advantages, they have also some weaknesses such as low resolution, noisy output, worse bias stability, etc. For these reasons they are not able to provide a navigation solution and thus the adding sources take place. This paper describes the hardware realization of navigation system for unmanned aerial vehicles and small aircrafts. The navigation system consists of tri-axial FXOS8700 accelerometer combined with tri-axial magnetometer and triad of ADXRS453 gyroscopes. This system is aided by absolute pressure sensor HSCMAND015PA2A3 for vertical corrections and by GPS receiver MAX-M8 to correct the position
