MEMS accelerometers and gyroscopes are suitable for the inertial navigation of mobile robots due to the low price, small dimensions and light weight. The main disadvantage in a comparison with classic sensors is a worse long term stability. For a simplelong term stability analysis the Allan variance method could be used. The topic of this article is a measurement of the Allan variance for MEMS gyroscopes. Results based on the measurement of three different gyroscopes are presented.
