Design and verification of the electro-optical high voltage sensor
Original language description
The paper deals with the proposal of an optical high-voltage sensor which is designed to measure AC high-voltage up to 22 kV. The high-voltage optical sensor uses the linear electro-optical effect, which is based on the principle of a linear optical polarization in the anisotropic crystal (Bi4Ge3O12). The dynamic behavior of the sensor was proved by steps voltage response method. The step voltage response determines the maximal frequency limit which is important parameter according to the possible using of the optical voltage sensor for harmonics and transients measurement. The influence of harmonic distortion of applied voltage and sensor linearity were investigated.
