    Axial Flux Permanent Magnet Generators with Soft Magnetic Composite Cores

  • Original language description

    This paper presents the design and analysis of two axial flux permanent magnet generators using soft magnetic composite cores. The generators are designed with 6- and 12-pole configurations with double-sided stators and a single permanent magnet rotor. Soft magnetic composite cores are used for the stators and compared with silicon steel lamination cores for the load voltages, core losses, and load torques. The finite element method is used to model and analyze axial flux permanent magnet generators. The optimization of generators is also performed to reduce torque oscillations and increase average torque.
