The Public transport in the Czech republic in the last decade of the 20th century passed trough complicated epoch. This development is characterized by decrease of passenger public transport performance, growth of individual road passenger transport andimpacts to the environment above all in cities. This paper deals with the reasons of this development, estimation of situation in the passenger transport in next period and with holds, which will to influence the passenger transport performance.
