Traffic Information Dissemination Into Heterogeneous Systems
Original language description
This article briefly presents development of telematic systems in Czech Republic, especially in the scope of traffic information dissemination. Road networks of all European cities are most of the time congested and this problem could not be solved onlyby its reconstruction. Todays modern society has need for such type of information, which can actively influence the drivers behavior, so he/she will chose different route. This would result in more distributed traffic load and better throughput of traffic network. One of such system, which is already available to the drivers of several European countries, is the RDS-TMC that processes and disseminates traffic information in special format directly, over normal FM modulated signal to the terminal devices of the drivers (Navigation system, radio enabled PDA, etc.).
