This article describes the logistics system as a strategic part of the company business strategy and suggests possible implementation into the existing corporate structure to meet the expectations of the company management and particularly customer expectations as a final and determining part of logistics chain. In the article we publish the first results of research performed by our team. These results are currently being analyzed. It is a study of several logistics companies in the Czech Republic. Oneof the objectives of the research is to identify the region specifics of local companies. Based on observed we propose several possible ways of using modern methods to optimize the logistics flows as a possible business strategy leading to the the efficient use of financial resources.
