This document describes the benefits of biometric technologies for the purpose of automatic processes at airport border control. Introduced are principles and types of biometric systems for identity identification and verification of low-risk travelers,alongside with implementation proposal of one devices type on transfer of passengers on Vaclav Havel Airport Prague. Effort of security policies is introduction of new approach based on risk management with support of sophisticated technologies and behavioral analysis to strengthen the security controls. For this reason, at the end of this article is described project Checkpoint of the Future. The project is IATA initiative for using biometric technologies as part of complex measures to increase throughput of passengers and obtaining seamless transfer from curb to airplane.
