The efficiency of the cooperative surveillance systems may beconsiderably limited by the excessive use of the dedicated radiofrequencies. The article describes a software approach to estimationof the radiofrequency 1090 MHz loading and re-interrogation rate.Based on MATLAB/Simulink, the program models the impact of thesecondary radar interrogations, ACAS, and ADS-B technologies onthe frequency loading. In the text, the general program design ispresented including the configuration settings necessary foritsapplication. The model outputs are then compared to thereal-measurement results.
