The possible traffic data utilization for truck parking places demand improvement
Original language description
Due to the increase in freight transport traffic volume on the road network in Europe, problems occur because of the lack of parking spaces for heavy - goods vehicles. This leads to very dangerous situations caused by improper parking of trucks in the truck parks. This article focuses on the analysis of truck parking place shortages, especially along the highways, which is mainly consequence of long-term increase in truck density. This problem is faced by all European countries and negatively influences road safety due to limited possibility to keep mandatory breaks by truck drivers. Transport experts focus now on existing capacity usage optimization due to limited investment funds for new construction.
