The sharing economy is a spontaneous and evolutionary environment for creating exchange relationships. It is a natural element of smart cities. The sharing economy is not limited in place, but it is logical that areas with high population density will benefit the most. But it must be said that this is not a new phenomenon. The principle, that one offers (for a consideration or for other consideration) something that he is not able to fully use has been used in the past. It is new to use modern information technology to share it. Therefore, the shared economy has been developing sharply in recent years. Transport is logically one of the areas where the development of the shared economy is huge. Therefore, the paper is focused on possibilities of using of sharing economy in transportation sector.
