Fluctuations in Passenger Railway Service Period
Original language description
This paper deals with usual daytime and weekly fluctuations in service period in Integrated Periodic Timetable (IPT) of railway passenger transport. First of all, the IPT is briefly reminded and the fluctuations in period are categorized. Then, two impactsof these fluctuations are discussed –on transfer connections between public transport lines, and on railway capacity. The theoretical part is supplemented by chosen examples from actual Czech railway timetable. As a conclusion, some rules for fluctuations in service period are proposed.
