This paper briefly presents results of the bachelor thesis which deals with freight railway transport in the Czech Republic, specifically with the layout of the additionallocomotive service on the railway line Brno –Havlíčkův Brod–Kolín. The line has been analyzedin detail, then the estimationof the demand for additional locomotive service has been done, operational concept has been designed, and at the same time the layout of the graphical timetable has been created. In the end this layout has been assessed.
