Using Census Data for the Gravity Model in Smart Transport Planning
Original language description
This paper focuses on the use of census ridership data to calibrate a self-generated gravity model that is not part of a full scale traffic model. It describes what data can be obtained from the census and how it can be used to build a gravity model. How this approach has been used. Presented general approach is applicable to Smart Cities and Smart Regions in cases, where a comprehensive transport model is not available and where it is necessary to get a quick overview of the significance of individual transport relationships.
